Our first year will be 3 days a week

Tues., Wed.,Thurs. 9:00-3:00

Our goal for our 2nd year will be both 3 & 5 days a week so we can include more families.

IN 3 DAYS WE WILL COVER:

CORE SKILLS: Math, Reading, Writing, Civilization

QUESTS AND SPECIAL PROJECTS, along with SOCRATIC DISCUSSIONS

these will all include many interdisciplinary areas.

On Mondays and Fridays at home, parents can choose to cover areas like PE, art, music, and other curricula they choose.

For the first year Odyssey will be considered a home school resource center. So parents will ultimately be responsible for their children’s education. Filing as a home schooler is quite easy in Georgia, and we will guide you in the process. Because of this the attendance policy is flexible, so you can enjoy educational travel which is encouraged - so you can enjoy life on your own schedule. But we do need enough time spent together to develop continuity within the student community.

Most Actons are 5 days a week, with several working out best practices for 3 days and hybrids. So our first year we will be striving to find a balance of following the children’s passions and covering core classes. It will be a work in progress and a year of great experimentation! We will gauge what we have time to cover in just 3 days as we progress, and look forward to feedback in the process.
